The Moody Sounds Baby Box Noise Generator has 11 control knobs and 2 switches. 8 of the knobs control the frequency of oscillation of different oscillators in the circuit. The signals from the oscillators are superimposed and a 'noise' is produced. One of the oscillators has much lower frequency of oscillation than the others. It gives a 'beat' to the noise and the tempo is controlled with the two knobs to the far left - turned all the way up the box produces a constant tone. Set them near max for rave-floor like sound, and near minimum position for bomb raid alarm kind of noise! The Noise circuit is connected to an echo circuit, which puts some 'depth' to the sound. The echo circuit has two controls: number of repeats and time between repeats. The knob in the right corner is a kind of blend control, which mainly set the wet and dry of the echo. The Baby Box is furnished with stereo output. The signal is split up in two at a point in the circuit, and different sound is produced in the two output channels. Plug in stereo headphones directly to the output and have great fun! One of the switches is a kind of mode switch, which further adds to the chaos. It sets how the oscillators interfere. The other switch (push button in the video) sets the range in which the 'number of repeats' knob of the echo, works in. The Baby Box is powered with a standard 9 or 12-volt DC adapter with a negative center (tip).
